Outdoor Products & International Hunting Expert
Born and raised in Chinook, Montana, Lucas grew up in the High Line Plains and Milk River Valley, an area known for some of the best whitetail hunting in the West. His passion for the outdoors was instilled at an early age, shaping a lifelong commitment to hunting, fishing, and conservation.
After high school, he attended Montana Tech in Butte, where he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering. During his time there, he played inside linebacker for the Orediggers, serving as team defensive captain and earning All-American Honorable Mention honors in his senior year.
While living in southwest Montana, he discovered a deep appreciation for fly fishing on world-class blue-ribbon trout streams and archery elk hunting in the Western Divide. Years of DIY public land hunts in the Pioneers provided him with invaluable experience and a skill set that few hunters develop. Over the past 20 years, his hunting and fishing pursuits have taken him to six continents and over 20 countries, as well as across the western United States.
A firm believer in the philosophy “You can’t take your points with you,” Lucas’ prioritizes drawing tags that offer the best opportunities for harvesting mature animals, regardless of the weapon or season. This strategy has allowed him to consistently secure high-quality hunts and spend over 150 days in the field each year, hunting in four to five states annually. Most of his domestic hunts are DIY, self-guided adventures on public land. While he enjoys pursuing all big game, his greatest passion lies in chasing bull elk in September. His ultimate goal is to complete the North American Super Slam 29, along with a global bucket list of species.
Now residing in California for nearly two decades, Lucas balances his career in the oil and gas industry with his passion for the outdoors. He is also a licensed outfitter in California, specializing in Tule elk, blacktail deer, and wild pig hunts. Helping others find success in the field is just as rewarding to him as hunting himself. One of his proudest accomplishments came in 2020, when he guided a close friend to harvest the #1 Pope and Young Tule Elk, a massive 334 2/8 bull they had been tracking since 2018. After years of scouting and strategizing, their hard work paid off on August 3rd, creating an unforgettable moment in his hunting career.
